WineVerse Privacy Policy

Effective 14 August 2026 · Versión en español

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Alfonso Pintos, an individual domiciled in the República Oriental del Uruguay (Uruguay), developer of the WineVerse application. You can reach me at alfonso.pintos.89@gmail.com.

Processing is governed by Uruguay's Ley N° 18.331 on the Protection of Personal Data and Habeas Data, and its implementing decree 414/009. The supervisory authority is the Unidad Reguladora y de Control de Datos Personales (URCDP), Uruguay's data protection authority.

2. What data we collect and why

DataWhy
Your email addressTo identify your account and let you sign in. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive the relay address Apple generates.
The wines you add: your cellar, your wishlist and your type, region and grape preferencesTo provide the service and personalise recommendations.
The label photos you takeTo recognise the wine automatically and show you the image in your cellar.
Your device's notification identifierTo let you know when a wine in your cellar enters its drinking window. Only if you granted the permission.
Your subscription statusTo give you access to premium features and keep billing records.
Your language and the number of queries you make to the artificial intelligence featuresTo reply in your language and enforce usage limits.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your activity outside the application or browsing data. We use no advertising and no third-party trackers, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

3. Who we share it with

Only with the providers the application needs in order to work, and only with what each one needs:

Some of these providers are located outside Uruguay. Uruguay has held an adequacy decision from the European Commission since 2012, and transfers are made under each provider's data processing agreement.

4. How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. When you delete your account from within the application, your profile, your wines, your cellar, your wishlist, your preferences, your label photos and your device's notification identifier are erased immediately and irreversibly. There is no grace period and no backup that survives the deletion.

The only records that survive are billing event logs, which we keep to meet accounting obligations. Those records contain the transaction identifier and its date; they do not contain your email, your wines or your photos.

5. Your rights

Under articles 14 and 15 of Ley N° 18.331, you have the right to access your data, to rectify it, to update it and to request its erasure.

You can exercise erasure yourself, at any time and without asking permission: go to Profile → Account → Delete my account. For any other request, write to me at alfonso.pintos.89@gmail.com and I will reply within the timeframes set by law.

If you believe your rights have not been honoured, you may lodge a complaint with the URCDP.

6. Security

Communications between the application and our servers are encrypted. Label photos are kept in private storage where each file is accessible only to its owner, and data access is restricted at the database level so that no account can read another account's information.

7. Minors

WineVerse is about wine and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you find that a minor has created an account, write to me and I will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If I change it, I update the effective date in the header. If the change is significant, I will also notify you inside the application.
